Learn About the First Time User's Guide

The First Time User's Guide offers steps to smoothly incorporate the FAS Outcomes system into your agency, breaking it down into three stages: planning the rollout of FAS Outcomes into your agency, configuring your FAS Outcomes system, and getting your staff trained in using the system.

In addition to these resources, we encourage you to sign up for one of our training webinars to get you acquainted with what you need to know. Some information in the resources linked to below is similar to the information covered in the webinars. We encourage you to join us for a webinar to learn about the assessments or setting up your organization.

Plan Your Rollout

Follow the steps below to ensure a smooth transition to the new system.

Choose a "Champion"

To make sure you get the most out of your system, choose a "Champion". This person will push the project forward, make sure everything stays on track, and help users realize the many benefits of using the new FAS Outcomes application.

Make necessary configurations

The FAS Outcomes system can be used "out of the box" with all of the default settings, or you can configure it to meet your unique needs. If you are planning on configuring, review the documents below in the Configure the System section to make the configurations that are right for your organization.

Setup end-user trainings

Use the documents in the Train your Staff section below to train your staff--note that you can train staff while simultaneously deciding on your system configurations. Depending on whether your staff are familiar with the FAS measures and their level of computer skills, they may need more or less training. Many organizations have gone live successfully with very little training.

Go-Live!

Once the system is configured and staff have been trained, instruct users to begin using the new system.

CAFAS® users: if using the old CAFAS® 5.4 system, it is recommended that you turn it off so that staff don't accidentally enter assessments.

Training Resources for Assessors and Supervisors Built-into FAS Outcomes

Included here are a wide variety of training resources that will help you get started using FAS Outcomes. We have comprehensive, on-demand training for every assessment. We have developed resources for both assessors and supervisors, although supervisors would probably find it helpful to be familiar with both sets of training materials.

Each training is available in two forms, a video for those who prefer to see and hear about the application and as written material for those who prefer to read about the application. We welcome you to use the resources yourself or view them as a group - they are always available to you.

Additionally, we also offer webinars free of charge to those who would like to watch the training videos with an FAS Trainer and be able to ask questions at any part of the training. In the options listed below, just click the "Sign up for a Live Webinar" link to schedule a time.

Finally, we have "Help" available on every screen. While you may not have found the built-in help of other programs that you use very helpful, we think ours is different and we encourage you to see for yourself. Clicking help on any page will give you information specific to the screen you are viewing. If you find you still have questions after reviewing the help for that screen, on every help page you have the option of sending us any comments or questions that you have. Just click the "Have a question about these topics? Ask FAS!" link, located between the orange navigation links and the first help topic on that page. A Customer Care representative will respond to you directly, typically on the same or next business day. So if our help doesn't answer the question you have, we encourage you to contact us.

Submit Feedback to FAS

TA Requests - The FAS Outcomes application has a built-in TA Request module. If you suspect an issue in the system, your IT Super Admin should investigate the issue to make sure it is not a user issue. If your Super IT Admin is not familiar with the program, you must have another resource to confirm it is not a user issue. If it is not a user issue, your IT Super Admin can use the module to send the details necessary for FAS to troubleshoot. Just login to the system as the IT Super Admin and click "TA Requests" in the left navigation.

FAS Feedback Form - This form can be distributed to your FAS Outcomes users in order to provide feedback on the system. Ideas from these forms will be used to enhance future versions of the system. Send completed forms to [email protected].
